A call for Community Support for the Redding Rodeo Association
For 75 years the Redding Rodeo Association has heralded the history and heritage of the Redding area through their volunteer efforts and those of the Asphalt Cowboys. These two organizations have been dedicated to the promotion of the rodeo and the betterment of the community.
It is time to offer the Redding Rodeo Association a series of long term contracts on the rodeo grounds and the immediate surrounding area that guarantees them, the Asphalt Cowboys, the Redding Rancheria and groups associated with the rodeo a long term home that can be developed to maximize it’s economic potential, the greatest return to the community and upgraded and expanded facilities for the rodeo and other outdoor community events.

It's time to guarantee another 75 years of our history
How has the Redding Rodeo Association and friends supported our community?
Through the efforts of the Redding Rodeo Association, our rodeo has been inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame and was selected as the initial event for the Wrangler Champion Challenge bringing Redding national recognition.
The Redding Rodeo hosted the most famous bull ride in Professional Rodeo history when 1987 World Champion Bull Rider, Lane Frost, rode the previously unridden 1987 World Champion bucking bull, Red Rock in the famous Challenge of the Champions.
The Redding Rodeo Association has supported the award winning Shasta County Men’s, Women’s and Youth Drill Teams who have provided recognition, entertainment and a great venue for our local horsemen to practice their skills.
The Redding Rodeo Association has used it’s grounds for other events including the Stillwater Pow Wow, concerts, benefit motocross races and youth events and they have provided the Special Needs community with it’s own day during the rodeo. The Redding Rodeo Association has been a main economic boost to the local economy for 75 years with the influx of rodeo participants, stock vendors, visitors and sponsors and with the Asphalt Cowboys have contributed through charitable donations and scholarships.
As we celebrate the wrap up of the first 75 years, it’s time to guarantee
